Review of Lush Skincare

14:48

In my previous post about my battle with adult acne, I mentioned that I would provide an up to date morning and night skincare routine with all of the natural products that I now use. The products that I am going to talk about, have been tried and tested over the last few months and have really helped at keeping my acne away.
Up until recently, I have had the same skincare routine since I was 13 years old and clearly the products I was using, were now no use on my older skin.
I had heard of Lush Skincare but I had only tried a few of their products, as I always stuck to my same skincare routine. But one day, I read a blog that gave a review of the Lush Ultrabland Facial Cleanser and I knew that I had to give it a go (Here is the blog where I found the original review).

Lush Ultrabland Cleanser

The Ultrabland cleanser is an all natural cleanser, with only 10 ingredients specifically designed to soothe and cleanse your face, without stripping your skin of natural oils. As an added bonus, Ultrabland contains honey and rose water, both natural ingredients famous for getting rid of acne. It promises to help improve skin texture and pigmentation within 4 weeks of use, and I can honestly say that this statement is 100% the truth!

Within 4 weeks of using this amazing product, my ever-problematic skin had transformed and I will never be looking back! Ultrabland cleanser also lightly exfoliates and moisturises, so regular use will leave you with smooth, supple skin that has an even texture.
You only need a small amount of the product and my 100g pot will most likely last me the full year. On an evening, I massage the cleanser into my face, then take a hot flannel and wipe off all the excess product and makeup. As Ultrabland is so thick, it does sometimes take a few wipes to get it all off but it is worth it, as it's so deep cleaning. On a morning, I tend to leave the cleanser on my face for 5 minutes whilst I brush my teeth or make my breakfast. I do this so that when I wash it off, the cleanser has had a chance to really sink in and get rid of all the toxins that have been produced over night.
I cannot recommend this product enough, it has changed my whole skincare game and I can guarantee I will never use another cleanser again!

Lush Tea Tree Toner Water

Lush Tea Tree Toner is a product I have been using for over a year now and I love it just as much today as I did when I first bought it! This product is a lifesaver for anyone with spots or acne as the main ingredient is tea tree, which has natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties that help get rid of bacteria and infection in the skin. It also contains grapefruit extract which is known for cleansing and toning skin, whilst keeping it fresh and supple. As well as this, it also contains Juniper Berry, a natural antiseptic that is well known for curing acne.
I spritz this product onto my face after cleansing on an evening, and dab it into my skin with a cotton pad. I make sure to let it dry and sink into the skin fully before I apply any more products. If I have a particular problem area, I spray the toner water directly onto a cotton pad, until it is soaked through, and hold it on that area for 5 minutes. This enables the healing ingredients to penetrate the skin and sink deep into my pores. Since doing this final step, I've seen a massive improvement in my skin, especially on my chin and jawline where I am prone to acne.
This product is a total game changer when it comes to skincare, if acne and spots is something you suffer from, I recommend using this product morning and night to cleanse and soothe your skin.

Lush Full of Grace Serum Bar

This is a product that has only recently been added to my skincare routine, but I already love the results i'm getting from it. This is a unique product that I personally haven't seen done by any other skincare brand and I love the individuality of it. This serum bar kind of looks like your average bar of soap, but it's so much more than that. This product contains Calamine Powder and Rose Extract, products which are known for calming down angry red skin and pigmentation. The lovely sales assistant in Lush recommended that I used this on my acne scars, as the healing ingredients should, over time, soothe my skin back to fresh faced smoothness! I was sceptical but decided to try it, but rightly enough after only a few days of putting this on morning and night, my red acne scars had dramatically faded, and my skin tone was looking much more even.

I massage this serum bar onto my face after cleansing and toning, morning and night. I make sure I massage it in with clean fingers until all the product has sunk into my skin. This actually works as an excellent primer under makeup and it's also beneficial to layer it under a face mask, as it helps the ingredients in the mask seep into your pores.
Despite being pricey for the amount of product that you get, this product will last you a long time as you only need a small amount to see the results. I'm really looking forward to continue using this product in my skincare routine in the future, as a way of making my acne scars fade even more!

Lush Grease Lightning Spot Treatment

There's nothing worse than feeling a giant volcanic spot brewing under the surface of your skin. Most of the time you just have to take a deep breathe and accept your fate that the spot will surface and you will spend a week looking like a dot to dot page. Not any more! This amazing spot treatment includes all natural ingredients that target the spot before it has even reached the surface of your skin. The product penetrates deep under your skin lining and kills the bacteria before the spot has a chance to push its way through your skin. This product contains antiseptic rosemary, thyme and tea tree (our favourite ingredient!) that zaps the zit before it's had it's chance to say hello.

As the ingredients are so natural and soothing, this spot treatment can be applied as often as you like. Whenever you feel a pesky pimple trying to make an appearance, pop a pea sized amount of Grease Lightning on the spot and within a few hours, the redness will have died down completely. I tend to put this on morning and night before my moisturiser, and this means that I am protected against pimples for 24 hours! The first night I used this, I had a huge under skin spot that was trying to make it's grand entrance, but I popped this product on and when I woke in the morning, the spot had disappeared, leaving only a small bump on the end of my chin as a memoir. This product really is a miracle for anyone that is pimple prone. If you zap the zit before it's had a chance to surface, it means no more acne scarring and no more angry spots that are impossible to cover with makeup! It's a win, win for everyone.

Lush Mask of Magnaminty

Although this product is not included in my daily skincare routine, I had to include it as I have been using it for years and it really is an excellent defence against acne.
It includes soothing and refreshing peppermint extract as well as antiseptic honey, a match made in heaven for problematic skin. This mask contains little aduki beans that act as a natural exfoliant, and scrub away any dry patches and even out your skin tone. I tend to use this mask twice a week, and whenever I feel like my skin needs a bit of a pick me up. The peppermint extract is so refreshing and cooling on your face that it really is like a spa treatment in the comfort of your own home!

I slather a ton of this all over my face and leave it to stew for 15 minutes before wiping it off with a hot flannel. This mask does dry quickly, but it's not uncomfortable or tight on the skin. I couldn't recommend this product enough! I always stock up on 600g pots of it, but it does last a decent amount of time.

All of these products combined have helped me to maintain my clear skin since finishing acne treatment. However, you don't have to have problematic skin to be able to use these products! Because of the natural ingredients these products are suitable for all skin types and ages and anyone will see results after using this skincare range.
Lush is so affordable and you get an amazing product within a reasonable price range. The staff in Lush stores are always so approachable and willing to answer any questions you have about any of their skincare products, so why don't you pop into your local Lush and splash out on a few new skincare items? Go on, treat yourself!

If you have any other questions about the skincare range at Lush, please feel free to drop me a comment as I have tried a range of their other masks and skincare.
